Brief Interview
Briefly introduce yourself, including past projects and recognitions.
My name is Tom Sweeney, I'm a filmmaker based in Wellington, New Zealand. In 2020, I graduated with a Level 5 Diploma in Screen Production, and have been working in the industry since, on both short films and a feature film. "Willowstone" is my first solo directorial endeavour and it has been an incredible journey bringing it from script to screen.
What does it mean to you and the team to have your film be elected as best film of the month by our jury members.
Having our film be selected as the best film of the month really means a lot to both myself and the crew! There were a lot of troubles having to fit the production around Covid and lockdowns, and seeing people enjoy the film at the end is such a rewarding feeling. I'm very grateful to the jury members for selecting our film, and I wish good luck to future films that are wanting to enter this competition!
